How to Play
Everything you need to get started with Big 2.
Step 1
Each player gets 13 cards
At the start of every round, everyone is dealt 13 cards from a standard 52-card deck. Only you can see your own hand.
Card ranking (low→high): 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 J Q K A 2. The 2 is the highest single card.
Step 2
Play combinations, not singles
On your turn, play a valid combination — a single card, a pair, triple, or a 5-card hand (straight, flush, full house, four-of-a-kind, straight flush). You must beat the previous play of the same combination type.
Classic: ♦ < ♣ < ♥ < ♠ (Spades highest)
Tiến Lên: ♠ < ♣ < ♦ < ♥ (Hearts highest)
Step 3
Pass if you can't (or won't) beat it
If you don't want to beat the current play, just pass. When all other players pass, the last person to play leads the next round with any combination.
You can always pass — even if you have a card that could beat it. Strategy matters!
Step 4
First to empty their hand wins
The first player to play all 13 cards wins the round. Losers score negative points based on how many cards they still hold.
Classic scoring: 0–9 cards left = −1 pt, 10–12 = −2 pts, 13 = −3 pts. Holding a 2 doubles your penalty!
Step 5
Two variants: Classic & Tiến Lên
Classic Big 2 (Hong Kong style) uses card-count scoring. Tiến Lên (Vietnamese) uses flat scoring, chop (chặt) rules, and instant win declarations.
Optional rule: enable 'Bombs beat 2s' in lobby settings to let four-of-a-kind or straight flush beat a single 2.
